Here's the gist with Librax (chlordiazepoxide and clidinium) and hemp. Lab studies hint that hemp may speed up a liver enzyme called CYP1A2, which helps process the chlordiazepoxide piece. If that enzyme works faster, your body could clear the medicine a bit quicker, which in theory might make it feel slightly less effective for calming and easing IBS or ulcer symptoms.

Honestly, I wouldn't lose sleep over this one. The evidence is only from test-tube research, the rating is minor, and normal food amounts of hemp seeds or hemp oil are very unlikely to throw off your dose. Just keep an eye out for the return of stomach cramps or anxiety, and check with your pharmacist or doctor before starting any concentrated hemp supplement.

Chlordiazepoxide and clidinium capsules are used to help control both the physical and emotional factors involved in gastrointestinal (digestive) disorders. This includes use as add-on therapy for peptic ulcer, irritable bowel syndrome (also called irritable colon, spastic colon, or mucous colitis), and acute enterocolitis (sudden inflammation of the intestines).

Librax is one brand available in capsule form and is approved for the same set of gastrointestinal uses.
