Hydrocodone falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES — the group Hemp interacts with.

Theoretically, hemp might decrease the levels and clinical effects of CYP3A4 substrates.
In vitro research shows that hemp induces CYP3A4 enzymes.

Here's the gist for hemp and hydrocodone. Your liver uses an enzyme called CYP3A4 to process hydrocodone. Lab studies (in test tubes, not people) hint that hemp might speed that enzyme up. If that happened in real life, your body could clear hydrocodone a little faster, which in theory could make it less effective at controlling your pain.

I want to be honest though: this is theoretical and rated as minor, based only on early lab data. Normal food amounts of hemp seeds or hemp oil are very unlikely to cause a problem. Since hydrocodone is a strong pain medicine, please don't change anything on your own. Just give your pharmacist or doctor a heads-up if you plan to use concentrated hemp supplements.
