Sotorasib falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES — the group Hemp interacts with.

Theoretically, hemp might decrease the levels and clinical effects of CYP3A4 substrates.
In vitro research shows that hemp induces CYP3A4 enzymes.

Here's the gist for Lumakras (sotorasib). Your body clears this cancer drug partly through a liver enzyme called CYP3A4. Some lab studies suggest hemp may speed that enzyme up. If that happened in real life, your body could clear sotorasib a little faster, which in theory might lower its blood levels and make it work less well against your lung cancer.

I want to be honest about how weak this signal is. It comes only from test-tube research, not from people, so we really don't know if it matters at normal hemp food amounts. Still, because sotorasib is fighting a serious illness, please don't add concentrated hemp supplements without first checking with your oncologist or pharmacist.

About Sotorasib

What Is Sotorasib Used For?

Brand name: Lumakras

Lumakras is used to treat adults with KRAS G12C-mutated locally advanced or metastatic non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) who have already received at least one prior cancer treatment. This use was approved under the FDA's accelerated approval pathway based on tumor response rates, and continued approval may depend on results from confirmatory trials.

Lumakras is also used in combination with panitumumab to treat adults with KRAS G12C-mutated metastatic colorectal cancer (mCRC) who have previously received certain chemotherapy regimens. In both cases, patients must first be confirmed to carry the KRAS G12C mutation using an FDA-approved test.
