Rauvolfia vomitoria contains a very small amount of the drug reserpine. Reserpine can reduce both systolic and diastolic blood pressure.

Timolide is a combo pill: hydrochlorothiazide (a water pill) plus timolol (a beta blocker). Both already work to lower your blood pressure. Rauvolfia vomitoria contains a small amount of reserpine, which also nudges blood pressure down by lowering certain nerve signals. So the worry here is simple addition. Stacking it on top of your medication could drop your pressure too far.

If that happens, you might feel dizzy, lightheaded, tired, or faint, especially when standing up quickly. Keep in mind this is a theoretical concern based on how these compounds work, not a proven, common problem. Still, with two blood pressure agents already on board, I'd play it safe. Please check with your doctor or pharmacist before adding this herb.

Hydrochlorothiazide, Timolol also falls under CYTOCHROME P450 2D6 (CYP2D6) SUBSTRATES.

Theoretically, Rauvolfia vomitoria might increase the levels and clinical effects of CYP2D6 substrates.
Rauvolfia vomitoria contains small amounts of the drug yohimbine. In vitro research shows that yohimbine inhibits CYP2D6 enzyme activity.

Timolide combines a water pill (hydrochlorothiazide) with timolol, a beta-blocker. The piece that matters here is timolol, which your body partly clears using a liver enzyme called CYP2D6. Rauvolfia vomitoria contains a small amount of yohimbine, and lab studies suggest yohimbine can slow that same enzyme. If it does, timolol may build up a bit and act more strongly than expected.

In real life that could mean a slower heart rate, lower blood pressure, lightheadedness, or feeling tired. Keep in mind this is theoretical, based only on test-tube data, so it may not happen in people. Still, since rauvolfia also lowers blood pressure on its own, please check with your pharmacist or doctor before combining them.
