Theoretically, taking Rauvolfia vomitoria with antidiabetes drugs might increase the risk of hypoglycemia.
Preliminary clinical research shows that drinking a beverage containing Rauvolfia vomitoria foliage and bitter orange fruit lowers blood glucose levels. Hypoglycemic effects of Rauvolfia vomitoria have also been demonstrated in an animal diabetic model.

Here's the simple version: Tresiba (insulin degludec) is your long-acting insulin that lowers blood sugar over a full day. Some early research suggests that Rauvolfia vomitoria may have its own blood-sugar-lowering effect. If you add it on top of your insulin, the two could stack together and push your glucose down too far, raising your risk of hypoglycemia.

That can show up as shakiness, sweating, a fast heartbeat, confusion, or in serious cases passing out. I want to be honest though, this concern is mostly theoretical and based on small studies and animal data, not strong human trials. Still, since this herb is potent and your insulin is dosed carefully, please check with your doctor or pharmacist before mixing them.

What Is Insulin Degludec (rDNA Origin) Injection Used For?

Brand name: Tresiba

Insulin degludec (brands: Insulin Degludec, Tresiba) is indicated to improve glycemic control (blood sugar management) in patients 1 year of age and older with diabetes mellitus — both type 1 and type 2.

It is not recommended for treating diabetic ketoacidosis (a dangerous complication where acids build up in the blood). In patients with type 1 diabetes, it must be used together with a short-acting insulin.
