Metformin, Sitagliptin falls under ANTIDIABETES DRUGS — the group Rauvolfia Vomitoria interacts with.

Theoretically, taking Rauvolfia vomitoria with antidiabetes drugs might increase the risk of hypoglycemia.
Preliminary clinical research shows that drinking a beverage containing Rauvolfia vomitoria foliage and bitter orange fruit lowers blood glucose levels. Hypoglycemic effects of Rauvolfia vomitoria have also been demonstrated in an animal diabetic model.

Janumet pairs two diabetes medicines, metformin and sitagliptin, that already work to bring your blood sugar down. The concern here is simple addition: some early research suggests Rauvolfia vomitoria may have its own blood sugar lowering effect. Stacked on top of your medication, that could push your numbers too low.

I want to be straight with you, though. This is mostly theoretical, based on a small study of a beverage and an animal model, not solid human trials with Janumet itself. Still, if your sugar drops too far you might feel shaky, sweaty, dizzy, or confused. Janumet alone rarely causes serious lows, but adding this potent herb is hard to predict. Please check with your pharmacist or doctor before combining them.
