Here's the simple version: Azilsartan (Edarbi) already lowers your blood pressure, and theanine may nudge it down a little too. Stack the two and you could, in theory, end up lower than expected. That might show up as feeling dizzy or lightheaded, especially when you stand up quickly, along with tiredness or a bit of a headache.

I want to be honest about the evidence, though. This concern comes mostly from animal studies, not solid human research, so it's more of a theoretical caution than a proven problem. Azilsartan isn't a prodrug, so this is just about an added blood-pressure-lowering effect, not a change in how the drug is broken down. If you'd like to try theanine, check with your pharmacist or doctor first and keep an eye on your readings at home.

Azilsartan medoxomil tablets — sold as both the generic Azilsartan Medoxomil and the brand Edarbi — are approved to treat high blood pressure (hypertension) in adults. Bringing blood pressure down lowers the risk of serious cardiovascular events, especially stroke and heart attack.

The medication can be used on its own or alongside other blood pressure medicines. It is not a cure for high blood pressure, and managing the condition fully often involves lifestyle steps like limiting sodium, exercising, and quitting smoking.
