Here's the gist for these two. Your body partly relies on an enzyme called CYP2D6 to clear cyclobenzaprine. Lab studies suggest yohimbine, the active piece of yohimbe, can slow that enzyme down. If that happens in real life, cyclobenzaprine could hang around a bit longer and feel stronger than usual. That could mean extra drowsiness, dry mouth, dizziness, blurry vision, or a faster heartbeat.

I'll be honest though, this is theoretical and based only on test-tube research, not on people, so I wouldn't lose sleep over it. Still, yohimbe on its own can spike your heart rate and blood pressure, which doesn't pair nicely with a sedating muscle relaxer. Please run this combo by your pharmacist or doctor before mixing them.

Here's the gist for these two together. Your body relies on a liver enzyme called CYP1A2 to help break down cyclobenzaprine (Flexeril). Lab studies suggest yohimbe may speed up that enzyme, which in theory could clear the muscle relaxant a little faster and make it work less well, so you might notice less relief from your muscle pain or stiffness.

I want to be honest though: this is graded as a minor, theoretical interaction based only on test-tube research, not on real people. So I wouldn't lose sleep over it. The bigger concern with yohimbe is its own punch, things like a racing heart, jitteriness, and spikes in blood pressure. Before adding it, please check in with your pharmacist or doctor first.

A prescription form of yohimbine has some evidence for erectile dysfunction, but over-the-counter yohimbe supplements vary widely in content and can cause serious side effects like high blood pressure and fast heart rate. What Is Cyclobenzaprine Used For?

Brand names: Cyclobenzaprine, Flexeril, Cycloprine

Cyclobenzaprine tablets and extended-release capsules are used alongside rest and physical therapy to relieve muscle spasm caused by acute, painful musculoskeletal conditions — easing pain, tenderness, and limited movement. This use is intended for short-term treatment only (up to 2–3 weeks).

Tonmya, the sublingual (under-the-tongue) form of cyclobenzaprine, is separately indicated for the treatment of fibromyalgia in adults. It is not the same as the oral tablet or capsule formulations.
