Yohimbe + Hydrocortisone
Hydrocortisone brand names: Cortef, Hydrocortone, Carmol HC cream, Hydrocortisone Iodoquinol Cream, Vytone Cream, and others.
Yohimbe has a minor interaction with Hydrocortisone. Theoretically, yohimbe might decrease the levels and clinical effects of CYP3A4 substrates.

Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES
Why this applies to Hydrocortisone
Hydrocortisone falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES — the group Yohimbe interacts with.
In vitro research shows that yohimbe extract induces CYP3A4 enzymes.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the basic idea with these two. Your liver uses an enzyme called CYP3A4 to help clear hydrocortisone (Cortef) out of your system. Lab studies suggest yohimbe may speed that enzyme up, which could push hydrocortisone out a little faster and slightly weaken its effect. Hydrocortisone isn't a prodrug, so faster clearing means less medicine working, not more.
I want to be honest about how soft this is. The concern comes only from test-tube research, it's rated minor, and we have no real human evidence it matters. For most people it likely won't cause a noticeable difference. Still, yohimbe has its own risks like spiking blood pressure and heart rate, so please run it by your pharmacist or doctor first.

About Yohimbe
What is Yohimbe?
- Erectile dysfunction
- Low sex drive
- Sexual performance
- Weight loss
- Athletic performance
Yohimbe is a West African tree bark that contains yohimbine, a compound mainly promoted for erectile dysfunction and as an aphrodisiac. A prescription form of yohimbine has some evidence for erectile dysfunction, but over-the-counter yohimbe supplements vary widely in content and can cause serious side effects like high blood pressure and fast heart rate. Because of these safety concerns, talk to your pharmacist or doctor before using it.

Hydrocortisone Is Linked to Lower Levels of 8 Nutrients
Natural Medicines records Hydrocortisone as a medicine that can lower these. This is not an interaction with Yohimbe — it is a separate effect of the medicine, and it is a reason some people are advised to supplement rather than to avoid one:
