Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
STIMULANT DRUGS
Why this applies to Pseudoephedrine
Pseudoephedrine falls under STIMULANT DRUGS — the group Yohimbe interacts with.
Yohimbine, a constituent of yohimbe, has sympathomimetic effects and increases blood pressure in a dose-dependent manner. Theoretically, taking yohimbe with stimulant drugs can have additive stimulant and hypertensive effects.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the thing to know about pairing these two. Pseudoephedrine (Sudafed) is a decongestant that works by tightening blood vessels, and along the way it can nudge up your heart rate and blood pressure. Yohimbe has its own stimulant-like, blood-pressure-raising activity. So when you put them together, you're essentially stacking two things that pull in the same direction.
The worry is additive effects: a faster or pounding heartbeat, jitteriness, trouble sleeping, anxiety, and higher blood pressure. I'll be honest, this is mostly a theoretical concern based on how each one behaves rather than hard studies, but it's a sensible one, especially if you already have heart issues or high blood pressure. Please check with your pharmacist or doctor before combining them.

About Yohimbe
What is Yohimbe?
- Erectile dysfunction
- Low sex drive
- Sexual performance
- Weight loss
- Athletic performance
Yohimbe is a West African tree bark that contains yohimbine, a compound mainly promoted for erectile dysfunction and as an aphrodisiac. A prescription form of yohimbine has some evidence for erectile dysfunction, but over-the-counter yohimbe supplements vary widely in content and can cause serious side effects like high blood pressure and fast heart rate. Because of these safety concerns, talk to your pharmacist or doctor before using it.
About Pseudoephedrine
What Is Pseudoephedrine Used For?
Brand names: Pseudoval Plus, Sudafed, Mini Pseudo, Robidrine, Sudafed 12 Hour
Pseudoephedrine temporarily relieves nasal congestion and sinus pressure caused by the common cold, hay fever, or other upper respiratory allergies. Most products also relieve sinus congestion and pressure, and help restore easier breathing through the nose.
