Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
MONOAMINE OXIDASE INHIBITORS (MAOIs)
Why this applies to Ozanimod Hydrochloride
Ozanimod Hydrochloride falls under MONOAMINE OXIDASE INHIBITORS (MAOIs) — the group Yohimbe interacts with.
Yohimbine, a constituent of yohimbe, has MAO inhibitory effects. At high doses, yohimbine is a non-selective inhibitor of MAO.
Well-controlled human studies have demonstrated the likely existence of this interaction.
Here's the thing to know about combining yohimbe with Zeposia (ozanimod). Ozanimod itself has mild MAO-inhibiting activity, and yohimbine at higher doses can also block MAO. Stack those two together and you get an additive effect, meaning more MAO inhibition than either alone. That matters because blocking MAO lets substances like tyramine and certain blood-pressure-raising signals build up in your body.
The realistic worry here is a sharp spike in blood pressure, a racing or pounding heartbeat, headache, sweating, or feeling jittery and anxious. Yohimbe on its own is already known to push blood pressure and heart rate up, so this is a real-world concern, not just a paper one. Please don't start or stop anything on your own. Run it by your pharmacist or doctor first so they can help you stay safe.

About Yohimbe
What is Yohimbe?
- Erectile dysfunction
- Low sex drive
- Sexual performance
- Weight loss
- Athletic performance
Yohimbe is a West African tree bark that contains yohimbine, a compound mainly promoted for erectile dysfunction and as an aphrodisiac. A prescription form of yohimbine has some evidence for erectile dysfunction, but over-the-counter yohimbe supplements vary widely in content and can cause serious side effects like high blood pressure and fast heart rate. Because of these safety concerns, talk to your pharmacist or doctor before using it.
