Trazodone falls under CYTOCHROME P450 2D6 (CYP2D6) SUBSTRATES — the group Yohimbe interacts with.

Theoretically, yohimbe might increase the levels and adverse effects of CYP2D6 substrates.
In vitro research suggests that yohimbine, a constituent of yohimbe bark, inhibits CYP2D6 enzyme activity.

Here's the gist: your body relies partly on an enzyme called CYP2D6 to break down and clear trazodone. Lab studies hint that yohimbine, the active piece of yohimbe, can slow that enzyme down. If that happens, trazodone could linger a bit longer and build up, which may turn up its usual effects like drowsiness, dizziness, dry mouth, and feeling lightheaded when you stand.

I'll be honest, though, this is only a theoretical concern from test-tube research, not real patient data, so I wouldn't lose sleep over it. The bigger worry with yohimbe is its own tendency to spike blood pressure and heart rate. Before pairing these two, please run it by your pharmacist or doctor first.

Here's the gist for your trazodone. Your liver uses an enzyme called CYP3A4 to break trazodone down. Lab studies suggest yohimbe may speed that enzyme up, which could clear trazodone a little faster and make it somewhat less effective. In practice that might mean your depression symptoms aren't as well controlled, or you notice the sleep-promoting effect wearing off sooner.

I'll be honest though: this is rated minor and is based only on test-tube research, not real people, so it may not amount to much. The bigger worry is yohimbe itself, which can raise blood pressure and heart rate. Please check with your pharmacist or doctor before pairing the two.

A prescription form of yohimbine has some evidence for erectile dysfunction, but over-the-counter yohimbe supplements vary widely in content and can cause serious side effects like high blood pressure and fast heart rate.
