Azilsartan falls under ANTIHYPERTENSIVE DRUGS — the group Hemp interacts with.

Theoretically, hemp seed protein may have additive effects with antihypertensive drugs.
In a hypertensive animal model, hemp seed protein hydrolysate reduced systolic blood pressure by a mechanism possibly involving the inhibition of renin and angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE) activities. However, there was no effect of hemp seed protein on blood pressure in normotensive animals. Furthermore, hempseed oil consumption does not seem to reduce blood pressure in humans.

Here's the gist: Azilsartan (Edarbi) lowers your blood pressure by relaxing your blood vessels. The thought is that hemp seed protein might nudge blood pressure down a little too, so in theory the two together could add up. If that happened, you might notice dizziness, lightheadedness, or feeling faint when you stand up.

The honest part: this idea comes from lab and animal work, not solid human studies. In fact, hemp seed oil did not lower blood pressure in people, and there was no effect in animals with normal blood pressure. So I wouldn't lose sleep over eating hemp seeds. If you're using concentrated hemp protein supplements, just mention it to your pharmacist or doctor and keep an eye on your readings.

What Is Azilsartan Used For?

Brand name: Edarbi

Azilsartan medoxomil tablets — sold as both the generic Azilsartan Medoxomil and the brand Edarbi — are approved to treat high blood pressure (hypertension) in adults. Bringing blood pressure down lowers the risk of serious cardiovascular events, especially stroke and heart attack.

The medication can be used on its own or alongside other blood pressure medicines. It is not a cure for high blood pressure, and managing the condition fully often involves lifestyle steps like limiting sodium, exercising, and quitting smoking.
