Crizotinib falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES — the group Hemp interacts with.

Theoretically, hemp might decrease the levels and clinical effects of CYP3A4 substrates.

Here's the gist for Xalkori (crizotinib). Your body relies on a liver enzyme called CYP3A4 to handle this cancer medicine. Lab studies hint that concentrated hemp supplements might speed that enzyme up a bit, which could in theory clear crizotinib faster and leave a little less of it working against your cancer. With an anticancer drug, you don't want anything quietly weakening it.

Now, the honest part: this comes only from test-tube research, it's rated minor, and we have no real human cases showing it actually happens. Eating hemp seeds or hemp oil as food is very unlikely to matter. Before adding any hemp supplement, please run it by your oncologist or pharmacist first.

About Crizotinib

What Is Crizotinib Used For?

Brand name: Xalkori

Xalkori (crizotinib) treats adult patients with metastatic non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) whose tumors test positive for ALK or ROS1 gene changes, as confirmed by an FDA-approved test.

Xalkori is also used for pediatric patients (age 1 and older) and young adults with relapsed or refractory systemic ALK-positive anaplastic large cell lymphoma (ALCL), and for adult and pediatric patients (age 1 and older) with unresectable, recurrent, or refractory ALK-positive inflammatory myofibroblastic tumor (IMT). Xalkori's safety and effectiveness in older adults with relapsed or refractory ALK-positive ALCL have not been established.
