Treprostinil (Oral) falls under ANTIHYPERTENSIVE DRUGS — the group Hemp interacts with.

Theoretically, hemp seed protein may have additive effects with antihypertensive drugs.
In a hypertensive animal model, hemp seed protein hydrolysate reduced systolic blood pressure by a mechanism possibly involving the inhibition of renin and angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE) activities. However, there was no effect of hemp seed protein on blood pressure in normotensive animals. Furthermore, hempseed oil consumption does not seem to reduce blood pressure in humans.

Here's the short version: oral treprostinil (Remodulin) already widens your blood vessels to ease the pressure in your lungs, and that can lower overall blood pressure too. The thought is that hemp seed protein might nudge blood pressure down a little as well, so in theory the two together could add up and leave you feeling lightheaded, dizzy, or flushed, especially when you stand up quickly.

But honestly, this is a very weak, theoretical concern. The evidence comes only from animal studies, and hemp seed oil hasn't actually lowered blood pressure in people. Everyday hemp foods are very unlikely to cause trouble. If you're using concentrated hemp supplements, just mention it to your pharmacist or doctor so they can keep an eye on your readings.

Theoretically, hemp seed might increase the risk of bleeding when used concomitantly with anticoagulant/antiplatelet drugs.
In animal research, hemp seed at 5% of the diet inhibits platelet aggregation in vitro. However, in human research, taking hemp seed oil 2 grams daily for 12 weeks does not inhibit the aggregation of platelets in vitro.

Here's the quick picture. Oral treprostinil (Remodulin) is a medicine for pulmonary arterial hypertension, and one of its built-in effects is that it can make platelets a little less sticky, which slightly raises bleeding risk on its own. Hemp seed has a theoretical ability to do the same thing, so stacking them could, in theory, add up.

I want to be honest about how thin this evidence is. The platelet effect was only seen in lab and animal studies. In actual people, 2 grams of hemp seed oil daily for 12 weeks did not change platelet activity. Culinary amounts of hemp seeds are very unlikely to matter. Still, watch for easy bruising, nosebleeds, or bleeding gums, and check with your pharmacist or doctor before adding concentrated hemp supplements.

About Treprostinil

What Is Treprostinil Used For?

Brand names: Remodulin, Orenitram

Treprostinil treats pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH; WHO Group 1) — high blood pressure in the arteries of the lungs. Depending on the product and route, it is used to improve exercise ability, delay disease progression, or reduce symptoms tied to physical activity. Remodulin and treprostinil injection products are also indicated for patients who need to transition away from another PAH medicine called epoprostenol.

Tyvaso, Tyvaso DPI, and Yutrepia (inhaled forms) are additionally approved to treat pulmonary hypertension associated with interstitial lung disease (PH-ILD; WHO Group 3) — lung-pressure problems caused by scarring or inflammation in the lung tissue itself. Orenitram (extended-release oral tablet) is specifically indicated to delay disease progression and improve exercise capacity in PAH.
