Fluoxetine falls under CYTOCHROME P450 2D6 (CYP2D6) SUBSTRATES — the group Rauvolfia Vomitoria interacts with.

Theoretically, Rauvolfia vomitoria might increase the levels and clinical effects of CYP2D6 substrates.
Rauvolfia vomitoria contains small amounts of the drug yohimbine. In vitro research shows that yohimbine inhibits CYP2D6 enzyme activity.

Here's the gist for fluoxetine (Prozac). Your body relies partly on a liver enzyme called CYP2D6 to clear this antidepressant. Rauvolfia vomitoria contains a little yohimbine, and in lab studies yohimbine slows that same enzyme down. In theory, that could let fluoxetine build up a bit, which might bump up side effects like jitteriness, trouble sleeping, nausea, headache, or feeling wired.

I want to be honest about the strength here: this is based only on test-tube research, not on real people, so it's more of a caution than a proven problem. That said, this plant is potent and also affects mood and blood pressure on its own, so please don't combine it without checking with your doctor or pharmacist first.

Fluoxetine is approved to treat four conditions: major depressive disorder (MDD), obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), bulimia nervosa (a binge-eating and purging disorder), and panic disorder — with or without agoraphobia (fear of situations that feel hard to escape).

It works for adults across all four conditions, and for children and teens with depression (ages 8–18) and OCD (ages 7–17).
