Theoretically, yohimbe might reduce the effects of antihypertensive drugs.
Yohimbine, a constituent of yohimbe, is an alpha-2 adrenoceptor antagonist and has been reported to increase blood pressure in clinical research. Theoretically, concomitant use of yohimbe and antihypertensive drugs can interfere with blood pressure control.

Consensi pairs amlodipine, a blood pressure medicine, with celecoxib for arthritis pain. The piece of this combo that matters here is the amlodipine, which works to relax your blood vessels and bring your pressure down. Yohimbe pulls in the opposite direction. The yohimbine in it can nudge your blood pressure and heart rate up, so the two may end up working against each other.

In plain terms, yohimbe could blunt how well your amlodipine controls your blood pressure, leaving readings higher than your doctor wants. Keep in mind this is a theoretical concern based on how yohimbine behaves, not proven harm in this exact pairing. Over-the-counter yohimbe products are also unpredictable in strength. Before trying it, please check with your pharmacist or doctor.

CYTOCHROME P450 2D6 (CYP2D6) INHIBITORS

CYP2D6 inhibitors may increase the levels and adverse effects of yohimbine, a constituent of yohimbe.
In vitro and clinical research shows that the yohimbe bark constituent, yohimbine, is metabolized by CYP2D6 isoenzymes. Paroxetine, a cytochrome P450 (CYP) 2D6 inhibitor, increases the maximum serum concentration of yohimbine and reduces the clearance of yohimbine compared to yohimbine alone in patients who are extensive CYP2D6 metabolizers..

Here's the key thing to understand: with this combo, it's the yohimbe that gets affected, not your Consensi. The amlodipine and celecoxib in Consensi can mildly slow down an enzyme called CYP2D6, which is the same pathway your body uses to clear yohimbine out. When that clearance slows, yohimbine can build up to higher levels than expected.

Why that matters: yohimbe on its own can already cause spikes in blood pressure, a racing or pounding heartbeat, anxiety, and jitteriness. Higher levels make those more likely. There's also a tug-of-war here, since yohimbe can raise blood pressure while amlodipine is meant to lower it. I'd skip the yohimbe and check with your pharmacist or doctor first before combining them.

Theoretically, yohimbe might decrease the levels and clinical effects of CYP3A4 substrates.
In vitro research shows that yohimbe extract induces CYP3A4 enzymes.

Consensi combines amlodipine (a blood pressure medicine) and celecoxib (an anti-inflammatory pain reliever). Both pass through a liver enzyme called CYP3A4. Lab studies suggest yohimbe may speed that enzyme up, which could in theory lower the levels of both medicines and make them work a little less well. For amlodipine, that might mean your blood pressure isn't controlled as tightly; for celecoxib, it could mean less pain relief.

I want to keep this in perspective: this is only test-tube evidence, the rating is minor, and it may not show up in real life. The bigger worry with yohimbe is that it can raise blood pressure and heart rate on its own, which works against amlodipine. Please check with your pharmacist or doctor before combining them.

Yohimbe is a West African tree bark that contains yohimbine, a compound mainly promoted for erectile dysfunction and as an aphrodisiac. A prescription form of yohimbine has some evidence for erectile dysfunction, but over-the-counter yohimbe supplements vary widely in content and can cause serious side effects like high blood pressure and fast heart rate. Because of these safety concerns, talk to your pharmacist or doctor before using it.
