Atomoxetine falls under CYTOCHROME P450 2D6 (CYP2D6) SUBSTRATES — the group Yohimbe interacts with.

Theoretically, yohimbe might increase the levels and adverse effects of CYP2D6 substrates.
In vitro research suggests that yohimbine, a constituent of yohimbe bark, inhibits CYP2D6 enzyme activity.

Here's the gist for atomoxetine (Strattera): your body relies on an enzyme called CYP2D6 to break it down and clear it out. Lab studies hint that yohimbine, the active piece of yohimbe, can slow that enzyme down. If that happens in real life, atomoxetine could build up a bit higher than usual, which may mean more of its typical side effects like a faster heartbeat, raised blood pressure, trouble sleeping, dry mouth, or feeling jittery.

I'd add that yohimbe on its own already tends to push blood pressure and heart rate up, so stacking it with atomoxetine could double down on that. This is theoretical and based only on test-tube data, so I'm not trying to alarm you, but please check with your pharmacist or doctor before combining them.

Yohimbe is a West African tree bark that contains yohimbine, a compound mainly promoted for erectile dysfunction and as an aphrodisiac. What Is Atomoxetine Used For?

Brand name: Strattera

Atomoxetine — available as capsules (Atomoxetine, Atomoxetine Hydrochloride, Strattera) and as an oral solution (Atomoxetine Hydrochloride, Atoncy) — is approved for the treatment of ADHD in adults and pediatric patients 6 years of age and older. It is meant to be part of a total treatment program that may also include psychological, educational, and social supports.

ADHD is diagnosed when persistent symptoms of inattention, hyperactivity, or impulsivity cause meaningful problems in daily life — at school, at work, or at home — in more than one setting. Atomoxetine is not approved to treat major depressive disorder.
