Dextroamphetamine (patch) falls under CYTOCHROME P450 2D6 (CYP2D6) SUBSTRATES — the group Yohimbe interacts with.

Theoretically, yohimbe might increase the levels and adverse effects of CYP2D6 substrates.
In vitro research suggests that yohimbine, a constituent of yohimbe bark, inhibits CYP2D6 enzyme activity.

Here's the thing to keep in mind if you're wearing the Xelstrym patch (dextroamphetamine) and thinking about yohimbe. Your body partly uses an enzyme called CYP2D6 to help break down amphetamine. Yohimbine, the active piece of yohimbe, may slow that enzyme down, at least based on lab-dish studies. If it does, a bit more of the stimulant could hang around, which could nudge up the usual amphetamine effects like a racing or pounding heart, higher blood pressure, jitteriness, trouble sleeping, and feeling anxious.

On top of that, yohimbe on its own can raise blood pressure and heart rate, so stacking two stimulating things is my bigger real-world worry here. This interaction is only theoretical for now, but please check with your pharmacist or doctor before combining them.

Yohimbine, a constituent of yohimbe, has sympathomimetic effects and increases blood pressure in a dose-dependent manner. Theoretically, taking yohimbe with stimulant drugs can have additive stimulant and hypertensive effects.

Here's the thing with pairing yohimbe and your Xelstrym (dextroamphetamine) patch: both of these rev up the same part of your nervous system. Your patch is already a stimulant that can raise your heart rate and blood pressure, and yohimbe (through its active piece, yohimbine) does much the same by nudging your body's fight-or-flight signals. Stack them together and those effects can add up.

What that might feel like: a racing or pounding heart, jitteriness, trouble sleeping, anxiety, or a bump in blood pressure. I'll be honest, this concern is mostly theoretical and based on how both work, not on hard studies. Still, over-the-counter yohimbe can be unpredictable in strength, so please check with your pharmacist or doctor before combining them.

Yohimbe is a West African tree bark that contains yohimbine, a compound mainly promoted for erectile dysfunction and as an aphrodisiac. A prescription form of yohimbine has some evidence for erectile dysfunction, but over-the-counter yohimbe supplements vary widely in content and can cause serious side effects like high blood pressure and fast heart rate. Because of these safety concerns, talk to your pharmacist or doctor before using it.
