Here's the practical picture with Trulicity (dulaglutide) and guarana. Dulaglutide is an injected GLP-1 medicine that lowers your blood sugar and isn't a prodrug, so guarana's caffeine doesn't change how your body activates or clears it. The concern here is indirect: caffeine can nudge blood sugar slightly, and reports are mixed on whether it raises or lowers it. That theoretically makes your numbers a little less predictable.

Honestly, this is rated minor and unlikely, based on weaker evidence. A cup of coffee or tea probably won't matter much. The bigger issue is concentrated guarana energy products stacked on other caffeine. If you use them regularly, keep an eye on your glucose readings and check with your pharmacist or doctor before adding them.

What Is Dulaglutide Injection Used For?

Brand name: Trulicity

Trulicity (dulaglutide) injection is used alongside diet and exercise to improve blood sugar control in adults and children 10 years and older with type 2 diabetes mellitus. It is not for type 1 diabetes.

Trulicity is also used in adults with type 2 diabetes who have established cardiovascular disease or multiple cardiovascular risk factors to lower the risk of major heart events — specifically cardiovascular death, non-fatal heart attack, or non-fatal stroke.
