Infigratinib falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES — the group Hemp interacts with.

Theoretically, hemp might decrease the levels and clinical effects of CYP3A4 substrates.

Here's the idea behind this one. Your body relies on a liver enzyme called CYP3A4 to break down infigratinib (Truseltiq). Some early lab research suggests hemp might speed that enzyme up, which could clear the drug out a little faster and, in theory, leave less of it working against your bile duct cancer. Since infigratinib is the active drug itself (not a prodrug that needs activating), faster breakdown would mean a weaker effect, not stronger side effects.

I want to be honest though: this is theoretical, based only on test-tube studies, not real people. Still, because this is a serious cancer medicine, please don't add concentrated hemp supplements without checking with your oncology team or pharmacist first. Hemp seeds in food are unlikely to be a concern.

What Is Infigratinib Used For?

  • Infigratinib is used in adults who have received previous therapy to treat a certain type of cholangiocarcinoma (bile duct cancer) that has spread to nearby tissues or other parts of the body and cannot be removed by surgery. Infigratinib is in a class of medications called kinase inhibitors. It works by blocking the action of the abnormal protein that signals cancer cells to multiply. This helps stop or slow the spread of cancer cells.
