Abacavir, Lamivudine falls under HEPATOTOXIC DRUGS — the group Kava interacts with.

Theoretically, using kava with hepatotoxic drugs might increase the risk of liver damage.
Kava has been linked with over 100 cases of hepatotoxicity. Most cases occur with excessive and prolonged use. There is some concern that kava can adversely affect the liver, especially when used in combination with hepatotoxic drugs.

Here's the simple version: both kava and your HIV medication Epzicom (abacavir and lamivudine) put some demand on your liver. Kava has been tied to over 100 reports of liver injury, mostly with heavy or long-term use, and HIV medications like this one can also affect the liver in some people. Stacking the two together could, in theory, raise your odds of liver trouble. This isn't a case of one blocking or speeding up the other, it's just two things leaning on the same organ.

To be fair, the evidence here is mostly anecdotal, not solid proof. Still, watch for warning signs like yellowing of the skin or eyes, dark urine, belly pain, or unusual tiredness. Please check with your pharmacist or doctor before adding kava, and don't change your Epzicom on your own.
