In vitro research suggests that yohimbine, a constituent of yohimbe bark, inhibits CYP2D6 enzyme activity.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the gist with this cold-and-cough combo. Lab studies hint that yohimbine, the active part of yohimbe, may slow down a liver enzyme called CYP2D6. The dextromethorphan (the cough suppressant) in this product leans on that same enzyme to be cleared, so blocking it could let dextromethorphan build up. That might mean more drowsiness, dizziness, or feeling foggy, and in higher amounts even confusion.
Keep in mind this is theoretical, based only on test-tube work, so the real-world effect may be small. I'm more concerned about yohimbe's own habit of raising blood pressure and heart rate, which stacks on top of the pseudoephedrine here. Please run this combo by your pharmacist before mixing them.

In vitro and clinical research shows that the yohimbe bark constituent, yohimbine, is metabolized by CYP2D6 isoenzymes. Paroxetine, a cytochrome P450 (CYP) 2D6 inhibitor, increases the maximum serum concentration of yohimbine and reduces the clearance of yohimbine compared to yohimbine alone in patients who are extensive CYP2D6 metabolizers..
Interaction has not been documented in well-controlled studies, however, the interaction has been demonstrated in some small human studies or in controlled animal studies in conjunction with multiple case reports..
Here's the wrinkle with this combo: it's actually the yohimbe that gets affected, not your cold medicine. One ingredient in this product, chlorpheniramine, can mildly block a liver enzyme called CYP2D6, which is the same enzyme your body uses to clear yohimbine out of your system. When that pathway slows down, yohimbine can build up higher than expected.
Why that matters: yohimbe already tends to push up blood pressure and heart rate, and so does the pseudoephedrine (a decongestant) in this product. Stacking them, plus higher yohimbine levels, could leave you feeling jittery, anxious, with a racing heart or a spike in blood pressure. Since over-the-counter yohimbe doses vary a lot, please check with your pharmacist or doctor before pairing these.

Yohimbine, a constituent of yohimbe, has sympathomimetic effects and increases blood pressure in a dose-dependent manner. Theoretically, taking yohimbe with stimulant drugs can have additive stimulant and hypertensive effects.

Here's the thing to watch with this cold and cough combo: one of its ingredients, pseudoephedrine, is a decongestant that already nudges up your blood pressure and heart rate. Yohimbe works in a similar stimulant-like way, raising blood pressure too. So putting the two together could stack those effects on top of each other.
In real life that might show up as a pounding or racing heart, jitteriness, headache, trouble sleeping, or a noticeable bump in blood pressure. I'll be honest, this concern is theoretical and based on how these two behave, not on strong studies. Still, if you have any heart or blood pressure issues, it's worth a quick chat with your pharmacist or doctor before combining them.

This cold and cough combo (Tylenol Cold) mixes acetaminophen for pain and fever, chlorpheniramine for sneezing and runny nose, dextromethorphan for cough, and pseudoephedrine for congestion. The note on file says yohimbe might speed up a liver enzyme called CYP1A2, which could in theory lower the levels of medicines it processes. Honestly, this signal comes only from lab dish (in vitro) research, so it's very weak and rated minor.
For most people the bigger concern isn't the enzyme at all. Both yohimbe and the pseudoephedrine in this product are stimulants, so together they can push up your blood pressure and heart rate and leave you jittery or restless. That's the practical worry. Run it by your pharmacist before combining them.

This cold and cough combo includes a few ingredients, and a couple of them (like dextromethorphan) get processed by a liver enzyme called CYP3A4. In lab studies only, yohimbe has been shown to speed that enzyme up. In plain terms, that could mean your body clears some of these ingredients a little faster, which might make the cough or congestion relief feel slightly weaker. This is a very minor, theory-based concern, so I don't want you to worry much about it.
The bigger issue here is overlap, not enzymes. Yohimbe can raise your blood pressure and heart rate, and so can the pseudoephedrine in this product. Together they could leave you feeling jittery, racing, or wound up. If you take both, mention it to your pharmacist or doctor first.
