Theoretically, yohimbe might increase the levels and adverse effects of CYP2D6 substrates.
In vitro research suggests that yohimbine, a constituent of yohimbe bark, inhibits CYP2D6 enzyme activity.

Here's the gist with these two together. Your body uses an enzyme called CYP2D6 to help clear amphetamine. Lab studies suggest yohimbine (the active part of yohimbe) may block that enzyme a bit. If it does, your amphetamine could hang around a little longer and feel stronger than usual.

What makes me extra cautious is that both of these can rev up your heart and blood pressure on their own. Stacked together, you might notice a racing heartbeat, jitteriness, trouble sleeping, anxiety, or a spike in blood pressure. To be fair, this interaction is only based on test-tube data, not real patients, so it's more of a theoretical concern. Still, given the overlapping stimulant effects, please check with your pharmacist or doctor before combining them.

Here's the thing to understand about pairing yohimbe with amphetamine sulfate: both of them rev up the same part of your nervous system. Amphetamine is a stimulant that boosts adrenaline-type signals, and yohimbine (the active part of yohimbe) does something similar by blocking the brakes on those same signals. Stack them together and the effects can pile on top of each other.

What that could look like in real life is a higher blood pressure, a faster or pounding heartbeat, jitteriness, anxiety, and trouble sleeping. I'll be honest, this concern is mostly theoretical and based on how these two work, not on strong studies. Still, because both can raise blood pressure, it's worth running past your pharmacist or doctor before combining them.

Yohimbe is a West African tree bark that contains yohimbine, a compound mainly promoted for erectile dysfunction and as an aphrodisiac. A prescription form of yohimbine has some evidence for erectile dysfunction, but over-the-counter yohimbe supplements vary widely in content and can cause serious side effects like high blood pressure and fast heart rate.
