Here's the wrinkle with this combo product: the hydrocodone part relies on a liver enzyme called CYP2D6 to turn into its more active pain-relieving form. Lab studies hint that yohimbine, the active piece of yohimbe, may slow that enzyme down. If that happened, you might actually get less pain relief from the hydrocodone, since less of it gets activated. This is the opposite of a buildup problem.

Honestly, the bigger concern is yohimbe itself. It can spike your blood pressure and heart rate, and caffeine in this product can pile onto that jittery, racing feeling. The enzyme evidence here is only test-tube level, so it's theoretical, but please check with your pharmacist or doctor before mixing these.

Here's the piece that matters: this combo pill (Damason-P) contains caffeine, which is a stimulant. Yohimbe's active compound, yohimbine, also revs up the body's 'fight or flight' system, so stacking it on top of the caffeine here could add up. In theory, you might feel jittery, anxious, or notice a faster heartbeat and a bump in blood pressure.

To be honest, this concern is theoretical, based on how these ingredients behave rather than strong studies, and it's rated moderate. The hydrocodone and aspirin parts aren't the issue. Still, since over-the-counter yohimbe varies a lot in strength, please check with your pharmacist or doctor before pairing them, especially if you already have blood pressure or heart concerns.

Theoretically, combining yohimbe bark with antiplatelet or anticoagulant drugs might have additive effects; however, this has not been reported in clinical research.
Research in healthy adults shows that taking yohimbine, a constituent of yohimbe bark, in doses of 8 mg or more, seems to inhibit platelet aggregation in vitro by binding to the alpha-2 adrenoceptor. The effects of yohimbe bark itself are unclear; yohimbe bark contains 0.6% to 1.38% yohimbine, but it is unclear how much is absorbed.

The combo you're asking about (Damason-P) contains aspirin, and aspirin is the piece that matters here. Aspirin already makes your platelets less sticky, which is how it thins the blood a bit. Lab studies suggest that yohimbine, the active part of yohimbe, can also nudge platelets in that same direction. Stack them together and, in theory, you might bleed or bruise a little more easily, see nosebleeds, or notice cuts taking longer to stop.

I want to be honest about the strength of this, though: it's only been seen in test-tube research, never confirmed in real people, and it's rated as a minor, possible concern. On top of that, yohimbe also tends to raise blood pressure and heart rate on its own. Before mixing the two, run it by your pharmacist or doctor.

In theory, that could clear caffeine a little faster, meaning the pick-me-up wears off sooner. Honestly, that's a minor concern.

Yohimbe is a West African tree bark that contains yohimbine, a compound mainly promoted for erectile dysfunction and as an aphrodisiac. A prescription form of yohimbine has some evidence for erectile dysfunction, but over-the-counter yohimbe supplements vary widely in content and can cause serious side effects like high blood pressure and fast heart rate.
