Yohimbe + Ibuprofen lysine
Ibuprofen lysine brand name: NeoProfen.
Yohimbe has a minor interaction with Ibuprofen lysine. Theoretically, combining yohimbe bark with antiplatelet or anticoagulant drugs might have additive effects; however, this has not been reported in clinical research.

Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
ANTICOAGULANT/ANTIPLATELET DRUGS
Why this applies to Ibuprofen lysine
Ibuprofen lysine falls under ANTICOAGULANT/ANTIPLATELET DRUGS — the group Yohimbe interacts with.
Research in healthy adults shows that taking yohimbine, a constituent of yohimbe bark, in doses of 8 mg or more, seems to inhibit platelet aggregation in vitro by binding to the alpha-2 adrenoceptor. The effects of yohimbe bark itself are unclear; yohimbe bark contains 0.6% to 1.38% yohimbine, but it is unclear how much is absorbed.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the gist: ibuprofen (the active part of ibuprofen lysine) already nudges your platelets toward clumping a little less, which is why heavy or long-term use can mean more bruising or stomach bleeding. In lab studies, yohimbine (the active piece of yohimbe) also seemed to slow platelets down. Put them together and, in theory, those effects could stack and tip you toward easier bruising or bleeding.
I want to be honest about how thin this evidence is. This concern comes from test-tube research only, never from real patients, and we don't even know how much yohimbine your body actually absorbs from the bark. So the real-world risk is probably small. Still, since yohimbe can spike blood pressure and heart rate on its own, run it by your pharmacist or doctor before combining them.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Ibuprofen lysine page
“Ibuprofen lysine (NeoProfen) is an injectable form of the NSAID ibuprofen, and this list warrants real attention, starting with its six major entries. The dominant pattern is bleeding: 202 of the 268 ingredients on file can thin the blood or slow clotting, which stacks on an NSAID's own tendency to irritate the stomach and blunt platel…”

About Yohimbe
What is Yohimbe?
- Erectile dysfunction
- Low sex drive
- Sexual performance
- Weight loss
- Athletic performance
Yohimbe is a West African tree bark that contains yohimbine, a compound mainly promoted for erectile dysfunction and as an aphrodisiac. A prescription form of yohimbine has some evidence for erectile dysfunction, but over-the-counter yohimbe supplements vary widely in content and can cause serious side effects like high blood pressure and fast heart rate. Because of these safety concerns, talk to your pharmacist or doctor before using it.
About Ibuprofen
What Is Ibuprofen Used For?
Brand name: NeoProfen
Oral ibuprofen products (tablets, coated tablets, and liquid-filled capsules) are used to temporarily relieve minor aches and pains from headache, backache, toothache, muscular aches, menstrual cramps, minor arthritis pain, and the common cold, and to temporarily reduce fever. The oral prescription tablet (Ibu) is also indicated for the signs and symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis, mild to moderate pain, and primary dysmenorrhea (painful periods).
Caldolor, an intravenous (IV) form, is approved for adults and children 3 months and older to manage mild to moderate pain, to manage moderate to severe pain alongside opioid pain medicines, and to reduce fever. A separate intravenous solution, Ibuprofen Lysine, is used specifically in premature infants to close a patent ductus arteriosus (PDA) — an abnormal blood vessel connection near the heart — when standard medical management has not worked.
