Propiomazine falls under CNS DEPRESSANTS — the group Kava interacts with.

Combining kava with CNS depressants can have additive sedative effects.
Kava has CNS depressant effects. Concomitant use of kava with other CNS depressants can increase the risk of drowsiness and motor reflex depression. Clinical practice guidelines from a joint taskforce of the World Federation of Societies of Biological Psychiatry (WFSBP) and the Canadian Network for Mood and Anxiety Treatments (CANMAT) recommend that CNS depressants, including alcohol and benzodiazepines, not be used with kava.

Propiomazine (Largon) is a sedating medicine, often used to help with sleep or calm before procedures. It already slows down your central nervous system, which is exactly why kava can be a problem here. Kava has its own calming, sedative effects on the brain, so pairing the two tends to stack one on top of the other.

Together they can leave you extra drowsy, foggy, dizzy, or unsteady on your feet, and in stronger cases your breathing and reflexes can slow more than expected. This is a well-supported concern, and expert guidelines suggest not combining kava with sedating drugs. Kava can also stress the liver, so please don't pair these without first checking with your pharmacist or doctor.
