Perindopril Erbumine falls under ANTIHYPERTENSIVE DRUGS — the group Yohimbe interacts with.

Yohimbine, a constituent of yohimbe, is an alpha-2 adrenoceptor antagonist and has been reported to increase blood pressure in clinical research. Theoretically, concomitant use of yohimbe and antihypertensive drugs can interfere with blood pressure control.

Here's the thing to know if you take perindopril (Aceon) for blood pressure: yohimbe can work against it. Perindopril relaxes your blood vessels to bring your numbers down. Yohimbine, the active compound in yohimbe, does the opposite by stimulating part of your nervous system, which can raise blood pressure and speed up your heart rate.

So taking the two together may make your perindopril less effective, meaning your blood pressure could creep back up. This concern is mostly theoretical, based on how yohimbine works rather than studies of this exact combination, so I don't want to alarm you. Still, since blood pressure control matters, please check with your pharmacist or doctor before adding yohimbe.

Yohimbe is a West African tree bark that contains yohimbine, a compound mainly promoted for erectile dysfunction and as an aphrodisiac. A prescription form of yohimbine has some evidence for erectile dysfunction, but over-the-counter yohimbe supplements vary widely in content and can cause serious side effects like high blood pressure and fast heart rate. What Is Perindopril Used For?

Brand name: Aceon

Perindopril Erbumine tablets are used to treat essential hypertension (high blood pressure). They can be used alone or combined with other blood pressure medicines, particularly thiazide diuretics.

Perindopril Erbumine tablets are also used in adults with stable coronary artery disease to lower the risk of dying from a cardiovascular cause or having a nonfatal heart attack. They can be used alongside other standard coronary artery disease treatments such as antiplatelet, blood pressure, or cholesterol-lowering therapy.
