Acetaminophen, Phenyltoloxamine, Salicylamide falls under CYTOCHROME P450 1A2 (CYP1A2) SUBSTRATES — the group Danshen interacts with.

Theoretically, danshen may increase the levels and clinical effects of drugs metabolized by CYP1A2.
In vitro research shows that danshen tincture and various constituents of danshen inhibit the activity of CYP1A2. However, this activity has not been shown in humans when theophylline, a CYP1A2 substrate, was used as a target drug.

Here's the gist with Lobac (a combo of acetaminophen, phenyltoloxamine, and salicylamide) and Danshen. In lab studies, Danshen seems to slow down a liver enzyme called CYP1A2, which helps clear certain medicines. If that enzyme is blocked, a drug it handles could build up a bit and hit harder than usual. For this combo, that might mean more drowsiness or dry mouth from the phenyltoloxamine (an antihistamine), or extra strain on the body from the pain relievers.

That said, this is only a theoretical concern from test-tube work, and a similar human study didn't show a real effect. So I wouldn't lose sleep over it, but since Danshen can also affect bleeding, please run it by your pharmacist or doctor first.

Here's the situation with Lobac, which is a combo of acetaminophen, phenyltoloxamine (an antihistamine), and salicylamide. The piece that connects to Danshen is the acetaminophen. Your liver uses several enzymes to process acetaminophen, and one of them, called CYP2E1, helps turn a small portion of it into a byproduct that can stress the liver. In lab and animal studies, compounds in Danshen appear to slow that enzyme down. In theory, that could shift how acetaminophen is handled, but honestly this has never actually been reported in people.

So I wouldn't lose sleep here. The evidence is weak and theoretical. Still, since both Danshen and the salicylamide in Lobac can nudge blood clotting, it's worth a quick chat with your pharmacist or doctor before combining them, especially if you take Lobac regularly.

Acetaminophen, Phenyltoloxamine, Salicylamide also falls under GLUCURONIDATED DRUGS.

Theoretically, danshen might affect the levels and clinical effects of drugs requiring glucuronidation.
In vitro research shows that danshen induces the expression of glucuronosyltransferases. However, it also inhibits the activity of glucuronosyltransferases, including various members of the 1A and 2B families. The extent of inhibition of a specific glucuronosyltransferase seems to be dependent on whether or not the danshen is processed via 'sweating'. This type of processing may affect the levels of constituents in danshen that alter glucuronosyltransferase activity. So far, this interaction has not been reported in humans.

Here's the short version: this product (Lobac) contains acetaminophen, and acetaminophen is cleared from your body largely through a process called glucuronidation. Danshen has been shown in lab and test-tube studies to tug on those same clearance enzymes, sometimes speeding them up and sometimes slowing them down. Because the direction isn't clear-cut, this stays a theoretical concern.

In plain terms, if Danshen slowed acetaminophen's breakdown, blood levels could run a little higher, which matters most for the liver if you already take a lot of acetaminophen. The good news: this has never actually been reported in people. I wouldn't lose sleep over it, but it's worth a quick chat with your pharmacist before combining them, especially if you use acetaminophen regularly.
