Entrectinib falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES — the group Hemp interacts with.

Theoretically, hemp might decrease the levels and clinical effects of CYP3A4 substrates.

Here's the gist: your body relies on an enzyme called CYP3A4 to break down entrectinib (Rozlytrek). Some early lab research suggests hemp might speed that enzyme up. If that happened in real life, your body could clear entrectinib a little faster, which in theory might lower its levels and make this cancer medicine work less well. That matters because you want the full dose fighting the tumor.

I want to be honest about how shaky this is. The concern comes only from test-tube studies, not from people, so we truly don't know if it plays out in patients. Still, with a cancer drug like this, I'd rather you not guess. Before adding any concentrated hemp supplement, please check with your oncologist or pharmacist. Hemp seeds in food are far less likely to be an issue.

What Is Entrectinib Used For?

Brand name: Rozlytrek

Rozlytrek is used to treat adult patients with ROS1-positive metastatic non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) — a type of lung cancer where the ROS1 gene is rearranged — as confirmed by an FDA-approved test.

Rozlytrek is also approved for adult and pediatric patients older than 1 month with solid tumors that have an NTRK gene fusion (a specific genetic alteration), detected by an FDA-approved test, that have spread or cannot be removed without causing serious harm, and have worsened after prior treatment or have no good treatment alternatives. This NTRK indication was granted accelerated approval based on tumor response rates; continued approval may depend on results from confirmatory trials.
