Theoretically, taking danshen with antihypertensive drugs might increase the risk of hypotension.
Animal research suggests that danshen can produce dose-dependent hypotensive effects. Furthermore, concomitant use with captopril appears to potentiate this effect.

Edarbyclor combines two blood pressure lowering medicines: azilsartan (which relaxes blood vessels) and chlorthalidone (a water pill that helps your body shed extra fluid). Danshen, in animal studies, seems to lower blood pressure on its own. So the worry here is simple addition: stacking Danshen on top of your medicine could push your pressure lower than intended.

If that happened, you might feel dizzy, lightheaded, or tired, especially when you stand up quickly. Keep in mind this is a theoretical concern based on lab and animal work, not strong human studies, so it may not cause trouble for you at all. Still, since Danshen can also affect blood clotting, please check with your pharmacist or doctor before combining them.

Azilsartan, Chlorthalidone also falls under CYTOCHROME P450 2C9 (CYP2C9) SUBSTRATES.

Theoretically, danshen may increase the levels and clinical effects of drugs metabolized by CYP2C9.
In vitro research shows that various constituents of danshen inhibit the activity of CYP2C9. So far, this interaction has not been reported in humans.

Here's the simple version. Your Edarbyclor combines azilsartan (a blood pressure medicine in the 'sartan' family) with chlorthalidone (a water pill). Lab studies suggest Danshen can slow down a liver enzyme called CYP2C9, which helps clear certain medicines. In theory, that could let levels of a CYP2C9-handled drug creep up and push its effects a little stronger.

For you, that might mean blood pressure dropping more than expected, leaving you dizzy, lightheaded, or tired. I want to stress this is only test-tube research and has not actually been seen in real people, so it's far from certain. Still, since Danshen itself may affect blood pressure and clotting, please check with your pharmacist or doctor before pairing the two.
