Chlorthalidone, Clonidine falls under ANTIHYPERTENSIVE DRUGS — the group Danshen interacts with.

Theoretically, taking danshen with antihypertensive drugs might increase the risk of hypotension.
Animal research suggests that danshen can produce dose-dependent hypotensive effects. Furthermore, concomitant use with captopril appears to potentiate this effect.

Your combo pill pairs chlorthalidone (a water pill) with clonidine (which relaxes blood vessels by calming nerve signals). Both work to lower your blood pressure. The concern here is that Danshen, in early lab and animal studies, also seems to lower blood pressure on its own. Stack that on top of your medicine and your pressure could dip too far.

If that happens, you might feel dizzy, lightheaded, tired, or woozy when you stand up. I want to be honest though: this is theoretical, based mostly on animal research, not solid human data. It may not be a big deal for many people, but since it points the same direction as your pills, please run it by your pharmacist or doctor before adding Danshen.
