Nebivolol falls under ANTIHYPERTENSIVE DRUGS — the group Danshen interacts with.

Theoretically, taking danshen with antihypertensive drugs might increase the risk of hypotension.
Animal research suggests that danshen can produce dose-dependent hypotensive effects. Furthermore, concomitant use with captopril appears to potentiate this effect.

Here's the gist: Nebivolol (Bystolic) is already a blood pressure lowering medicine that relaxes your vessels and eases your heart rate. Danshen, in animal studies, also seems to nudge blood pressure downward. So the worry is simple addition: stack the two and your pressure could dip a bit lower than expected.

If that happens, you might feel lightheaded, dizzy, unusually tired, or faint when you stand up quickly. I'll be honest with you, though, this is mostly theoretical and based on lab and animal work, not solid human data, so it's a possible concern rather than a sure thing. Nebivolol is not a prodrug here, so the direction holds. Please don't change anything on your own. Just give your pharmacist or doctor a heads-up before combining them.
