Prazosin falls under ANTIHYPERTENSIVE DRUGS — the group Danshen interacts with.

Theoretically, taking danshen with antihypertensive drugs might increase the risk of hypotension.
Animal research suggests that danshen can produce dose-dependent hypotensive effects. Furthermore, concomitant use with captopril appears to potentiate this effect.

Here's the simple version: prazosin already lowers your blood pressure by relaxing blood vessels, and Danshen may do a little of the same thing on its own. Put them together and those effects can stack up, so your pressure could drop more than expected. With prazosin, the classic thing to watch for is the first-dose effect, feeling dizzy, lightheaded, or even faint when you stand up. Adding Danshen could make that more likely.

I want to be honest about the evidence, though. This concern comes mainly from animal and lab studies, not solid human trials, so it's more of a theoretical caution than a proven problem. Still, don't start Danshen without checking with your pharmacist or doctor first, especially since it can also affect blood clotting.

Prazosin hydrochloride capsules are used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension). Lowering blood pressure reduces the risk of serious cardiovascular events, including strokes and heart attacks.
