Nifedipine (Procardia XL, Adalat) relaxes blood vessels to lower blood pressure and ease chest pain, and I would handle this list with real care, since 11 of its 273 entries carry a major rating. Grapefruit is the one to know cold. It blocks the liver enzyme that clears nifedipine, so drug levels climb and side effects can follow, while St. John's wort does the opposite and can leave you undertreated. Beyond the enzyme issue, more than a hundred entries lower blood pressure on their own, and stacked with nifedipine that can mean dizziness or fainting.

Most of the rest rate moderate, 223 in all, with 39 minor, and many are milder versions of that same blood pressure stacking.
